January and we finally have snow!

What's up with the weather these days? We finally got our January snowfall and I'm so happy - winter is just not normal without SNOW. But hey, I guess we should take what we get and thank the Lord that we're still here to enjoy it. I hoping it stays long enough for me to actually get the cross-country skis out this year! I bought some last year and never had the chance to use them, so this year better be it.
We had our local Ringette tournament at the beginning of the month, we finished with 2 wins and 2 ties, could have done better but this year has been a complete write off. We just can't get our act together and play consistently. There is always hope for next year though! And it 's not cause' where the oldest group in the bunch either, my soccer team is older and we're in 2nd place in our division. Just gotta stay focused!
Heading off to Taiwan in mid Feb to visit my bro and sis'. Can't wait! They're both teaching English there now, and I think this will be the first time in years that the three of us have had time to just hang out together. Should be fun :-) Needless to say they've already booked up my first week with travelling to different places and having to lug my luggage along with us! At least there'll be three of us to do it (they're in for it).
That's it for now, till next time.

December 2006 - Home at Last!

Well, after 8 years of weekly travel for work I am finally at home full time! No more planes for a long good while. Being on the road every week, leaving Sunday night and returning late Thursday night is great in the beginning, but after awhile it gets tiring. Ask any seasoned road warrior and they will tell you the same thing. The hard part when you give it up is getting it out of your blood though. And this is what I'm going through now.

I now get to work from my home office and not even have to get in the car in the morning when it's -30 out in mid January. I know, going from traveling full time for work to not traveling at all (not to mention not even leaving the house) is a BIG change. I am fully aware of that and am slowly but surely trying to get used to it. I'll know more in the next couple of months if I can survive it, but for now it's a fantastic respite from the regular rigors of travel and being away all the time.

Well, I must get to work. Have a great day one and all!

Back to work - April 2006

Well, I'm back at work and settling in. The weather in Maryland is much nicer then in Montreal right now. The trees are green and I get to catch some sun at lunch.

I'm telling you, sitting at a desk all day again is hard work! I don't think my butt has been this numb from sitting in a long time. How do you get through 12 hrs days without going stir crazy staring at a computer screen? Thank goodness for the window, but even with that, yikes!

Is there anyway to find work that allows me to be in the sun all day and still be able to pay the bills? Help!

Sundown on the beach

Here was beach downtime in the Bahamas. The days weren't as warm as I would have liked, but any time away from the cold when it's 40 below at home is a good thing.
